Final registration ends August 11, 2008!

Join us Labor Day weekend, August 29, 30, 31, 2008, for The Fourth Great Gilbert & Sullivan Sing-Out. Beginning Friday evening, August 29, singers from around the country will meet to sing all 13 of the G&S shows. The shows will be presented concert style (no dialogue) with piano, with one exception. In honor of VLOC's 30th anniversary season, we will present our FIRST EVER production of The Grand Duke. This will be performed in a semi-staged concert with orchestra and dialogue.

The Principal casting is complete. The final registration deadline for participants is August 11, 2008 if you wish to request meals. If you need further information, please contact us at 301-576-5672 or email us vloc@att.net.

If you want to watch, audience tickets will be available through the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater box office at 240-314-8690. Tickets will be sold in blocks - Friday evening (7-11) , Saturday Morning (9-12), Saturday Afternoon (12-5), Saturday Evening (7-11), and Sunday Morning (9-12) for $25 for Friday night, including opening reception, and $20 for all other blocks.

* Saturday -The Sorcerer, Princess Ida, H.M.S. Pinafore | Utopia, Ltd., Ruddigore | The Grand Duke, The Pirates of Penzance

* Sunday - The Yeomen of the Guard, Iolanthe, The Gondoliers

Get Involved

The VICTORIAN LYRIC OPERA COMPANY, based in Rockville, is primarily devoted to authentic productions of the comic operas of Gilbert & Sullivan and other operettas of that era, and encourages the promotion of these evergreen works of the Musical Theater. The company is a community-based group and derives its operating finances from ticket sales, member dues, and individual donations. VLOC is always pleased to welcome new members to the organization.
